This study seeks to explore the intricate relationship between national culture and leadership styles within higher education institutions (HEIs). It also examines the pivotal role that leaders play in navigating workforce diversity within this context. Conducting in-depth interviews with 35 participants from seven different nationalities across six universities in North Cyprus, from August 2020 to June 2021, we employed a descriptive thematic analysis to extract relevant themes from the qualitative data. Our findings reveal that transactional and transformational leadership styles predominantly shape the leadership landscape in these HEIs. Moreover, we aimed to validate the applicability of transformational leadership within managerial frameworks in multicultural university settings, particularly in the context of effectively managing workforce diversity. The results illuminate how national culture significantly influences leadership styles, with a notable emphasis on transactional leadership approaches. The study contributes to the understanding of cross-cultural leadership dynamics in higher education, highlighting the importance of cultural considerations in leadership effectiveness and diversity management.

This study examines the transformation of Chuanjiang Haozi from a traditional labor song to an intangible cultural heritage, tracing its evolution across various performance fields. Initially, it functioned primarily in labor, enhancing teamworkandproviding spiritual solace during strenuous tasks. With its recognition as a cultural heritage in 2006, it has adapted to modern settings, diversifying its performancecontexts. The stage field fosters innovation by reinterpreting the songfor contemporary audiences, incorporating modern artistic elements while retainingits cultural essence. The educational field plays a crucial role in passing down the art form, emphasizing technical skills and cultural understanding, thereby ensuringits intergenerational transmission. The study reveals how Chuanjiang Haozi thrives inits original stage and educational fields through qualitative research methods, includingparticipant observation and semi-structured interviews. These fields support its preservation and evolution, enabling the song to maintain its relevance in modernsociety while preserving its cultural identity. Its adaptability across multiple contexts demonstrates the dynamic nature of cultural heritage in a rapidly changing world.

This study aims to examine the impact of gamification on learning motivation and academic achievement of university students. With the advancement of technology and innovative learning methods, gamification, as an approach that integrates game elements into academic learning contexts, has gained increasing attention for enhancing student engagement and motivation. This research uses a quantitative method with an experimental design, involving two groups of students at a university. The experimental group participates in learning that adopts gamification elements, while the control group follows conventional learning methods. The instruments used in this study include a learning motivation questionnaire and academic tests to measure student achievement. The collected data were analysed using a t-test to determine significant differences between the two groups. The results show that gamification can improve students’ learning motivation, which in turn contributes to improved academic achievement. The study also found that gamification elements, such as point systems, rewards, and levels, can encourage students to be more active and engaged in the learning process. These findings provide important insights for the development of technology based learning methods in higher education, particularly in efforts to enhance student motivation and academic achievement.

A popular and globally recognized measure for assessing the cognitive components of subjective well-being is the Satisfaction with Life Scale (SWLS). The purpose of this study is to adapt and validate the SWLS for special education teachers using convenience sampling. An online survey was completed by a total of 232 special education teachers. The McDonald omega and Cronbach’s alpha were used to evaluate internal consistency, while confirmatory factor analyses (CFAs) and multigroup analyses were used to assess the measurement invariance of the SWLS model. Correlations between the SWLS and other scales were determined using Pearson’s correlation analysis. A single-factor model of the SWLS was used to obtain good-fit indices for special education teachers. Evaluation of the internal consistency of the SWLS yielded a McDonald omega coefficient of .78 and a Cronbach’s alpha of .79. The Flourishing Scale (FS), Happiness Measures (HM), and Life Satisfaction (LS) were found to correlate with the SWLS, with Pearson correlational coefficient values ranging from .45 to .56, indicating convergent validity. To assess the discriminant validity of the SWLS, the correlation between the SWLS and the Center for Epidemiological Studies-Depression (CES-D) scale was determined. The results of a measurement invariance assessment using a multigroup CFA indicate that all levels of measurement invariance were achieved for gender and marital status. An assessment of the latent mean differences in SWLS scores across gender and marital status shows that male participants had significantly higher scores than females.

Career adaptability plays a vital role in shaping students' professional development, particularly in teacher-training programs. Guided by the broaden-and-build theory, this study employs a structural equation modelling(SEM) method to investigate the interplay between career adaptability and negative emotion. To delve into how negative emotion impact career adaptability and whether adaptive academic motivation mitigates adverse emotional effects, data were gathered from public-funded undergraduate students enrolled in teacher-training programs. The results of this study indicate that academic motivation acts as a mediator in the relationship between negative emotion and career adaptability. Implications for educational institutions and teacher training programs are discussed, highlighting strategies to enhance students’ adaptability and well-being.

Introduction: Thyroid disorders are one of the most common endocrine problems. The prevalence of thyroid cancer is high in Oman, yet studies conducted in other countries show inadequate knowledge about thyroid disorders in medical students. This study aims to uncover students’ understanding and perspectives on thyroid disorders, and intends to enhance awareness among students through educational initiatives. Materials and Methods-It was a cross-sectional study with pre-and post-test designs, which was carried out among students at Sohar University. Educational intervention was given through a module designed for the purpose. Pre-validated questionnaires were used pre-and post the intervention for assessing their knowledge. Male and female participants from Sohar University in Oman participated in the study. Results-134 students participated in the study before the intervention (Pretest) and 114 participated post-training. For comparison purposes, only those who participated in both the sessions were included for the study. The majority of the participants were females, 93 (81.6%) and the mean age was 23.21±8.75. There was significant improvement in post-test knowledge scores in both undergraduate and postgraduate students in both male and female students (p<.05). Conclusion-The educational intervention was successful in improving the knowledge of participants on thyroid disorders, as shown by the pre-post method. Such sessions should be conducted in the community in Oman to improve awareness about thyroid disorders.

This study aimed to assess the impact of Lean Six Sigma (LSS) methodologies on key quality indicators in a NABL-accredited clinical biochemistry laboratory, including Turnaround Time (TAT), redos, errors, and sample rejections. Conducted at the Clinical Biochemistry Laboratory, this study measured baseline metrics from April to July 2021. Workflow improvements were then implemented, including upgrading the immunoassay analyzer and refining testing processes. Post-intervention metrics were collected in June 2022 for comparison. Baseline data revealed substantial variability in TAT and elevated redo rates due to errors, primarily in the analytical phase. Immunoassays posed a bottleneck, prompting an upgrade from Roche Cobas e602 to e801 and the allocation of HbA1c testing to the Bio Rad D100. These interventions improved TAT efficiency by 15% and increased sigma values across test categories. Refining redo criteria reduced unnecessary retests by 20%. Additionally, addressing preanalytical issues, including sample mislabeling and inadequate volumes, reduced sample rejection rates by 25%. Implementing LSS methodologies led to significant improvements in laboratory quality metrics, reducing errors and optimizing workflow efficiency in this high-volume setting. This study offers a scalable model for quality improvement in clinical laboratories, supporting broader adoption of LSS in healthcare quality management.

La educacion en Ciencia, Tecnologia, Ingenieria, Arte y Matematicas (STEAM) es crucial para el desarrollo de habilidades criticas que permiten a los estudiantes enfrentar los desafios del siglo XXI. Este articulo explora la importancia de la inclusion de las jovenes en estos campos, con un enfoque particular en la robotica, y analiza como la Universidad Tecnologica de Jalisco (UTJ) ha implementado programas especificos para fomentar la participacion de las mujeres en STEAM. Se destaca el uso del Entrenador de Vuelo Sintetico Robotico de Movimiento Completo (RT&AFFM) como una herramienta innovadora para el desarrollo de habilidades tecnicas y practicas, asi como su impacto en la promocion de la equidad de genero en la educacion.

This paper presents a comprehensive approach to sentiment analysis on Arabic social media platforms. Arabic social media platforms represent one of the richest platforms for opinion mining giving the vast amount of user generated data produced every day. However, Arabic language sentiment analysis still remains a grey research area. Some of the notable research issues involve handling of vernacular Arabic, slang vocabulary and shorthand writings. Besides these, there is also lack of comprehensive framework for Arabic social media sentiment analysis as existing works often focus on particular platforms (like twitter and Facebook). As such, models developed on one platform may perform poorly on other platforms due to lack a representative feature space. To this regard, we adopted a comprehensive approach utilizing a broad array of Arabic social media platforms to establish more generalized sentiment models using random subspace ensembles of MLP base learners. More importantly, we introduced a new sentiment classification scale and we classified sentiments as Highly Positive (HP), Fairly Positive (FP), No Sentiment (NS), Fairly Negative (FN) and Highly Negative (HN). The approach has been tested in a series of experiments and the results demonstrate significant improvements in terms of both classification accuracy and generalizing ability.

The present work concerns the estimation of the rodent’s damages on the Arachis hypogaea L., 1753 and the Pisum sativum L., 1753 in the Souf region (south-east Algeria). The considered station 1 presents by 4 ha of the surface and the station 2 has a surface of 3 ha, located in the northwest of the Souf region. Pendant the period from October till December 2014. The station 3 takes a surface of 10 ha, it is located in the northwest of the Souf region. During February 2015. The first reflections of the damages amount in a deterioration of the harvest, in particular the pods broken or drilled and cut petioles, even so said eaten away times. However, the first estimations of the damages are estimated at approximately 15 % for the peanut and of 35 % for the pea of the total production, which is attacked. Captures realized on the spot show that the author of these acts is Gerbillus sp. Concerning the plots of land of the peanut and Rattus rattus who concerns the plot of pea land.

The effect of selenium components and α-tocopherol on blood GPX, selenium and their relationships with weight gain was investigated in 32 male lambs. Animals were classified in 8 groups of 4 lambs and treated individually or mixed with nanoselenium (NanoSe), sodium selenite (NaSe), and α-tocopherol. Lambs were weighed and bled on day 1, 4, 7, 30, 60 and 90. Mean GPX and selenium increased over 3 and a half-fold, respectively. The highest GPX and selenium were in oral NanoSe and NanoSe/α-tocopherol and the lowest were in α-tocopherol group. Mean GPX and selenium were greater in selenium components than in α-tocopherol group. Selenium and GPX differed among groups and bleeding times except for control lambs. The percentage of weight gain and the daily weight gain were high in oral NaSe and NaSe/α-tocopherol groups and low in α-tocopherol and oral NanoSe groups, respectively. The weight differences were not significant among groups but increased by the time of bleeding. There was no correlation between weight gain, GPX and selenium except for oral NaSe/α-tocopherol group. Correlations between selenium/GPX were positive. In conclusion, the effect of oral Nanose on GPX, was better than NaSe and α-tocopherol and is the appropriate alternative to NaSe in lambs

Many work positions require employees to demonstrate enthusiastic responses to customers, partners, or directors; however, these required responses occasionally or frequently negate the actual sentiments of employees. Enthusiastic work responses may be required, particularly in administration occupations, where association with other individuals is a substantial part of the job. Results show that the popularity levels of controlling enthusiastic responses are identified with a few undesired mental results, for example, push and compassion fatigue . This finding suggests plans for work positions and highlights the significance of applying appropriate procedures in hiring and training employees.

This paper addresses the design process of an FPGA-based system-on-programmable-chip (SoPC) approach to control the speed of a DC motor. Fuzzy control based on fuzzy logic and digital pulse width modulation (PWM) techniques are used as a computational solution for this digital controller to regulate the speed of the motor.\nTo achieve such control, a hardware/software co-design computing platform is designed and implemented. The controller is split into two concurrent subsystems: (i) a software subsystem built around the Nios II embedded soft core processor using SoPC for data acquisition, calculation of the inputs for the fuzzy controller, and data display; (ii) a hardware subsystem synthesized with VHDL to implement the fuzzy logic controller and the PWM generator.\nAltera’s Quartus-II software suite tools were used to develop, generate, simulate and synthesize this robust controller into a commercial low-cost FPGA, the EP2C35 of the Cyclone II family. Simulation results show the effectiveness and merit of the proposed scheme. In addition, the applicability of this heterogeneous controller is exemplified on a DC motor platform provided with a tachogenerator.

Alzheimer’s disease (AD) is the most common form of dementia. AD is a progressive and irreversible neurodegenerative disease, which damages and kills brain cells. \nExp. Design: the present study was designed to evaluate the anti choline esterase inhibitory property of selected Hydroxy Cinnamic Acid (HCA) derivatives and observe its effects on AlCl3 induced dementia in rats. The four compounds Cinnamic acid, Protocatechuic acid (PCA), Sinapic Acid and Rosmarinic acid were tested for in vitro choline esterase activity and based on the results, and reported literature protocatechuic acid was selected to test in animals. Dementia was induced by aluminium chloride at a dose of 175mg/kg, p.o. for a period of 25 days in rats and then divided into five different groups, i.e. rivastigmine, negative control and to see their additive effects two other groups were divided, which received rivastigmine (1.25mg/kg. p.o+ 50 mg/kg PCA, p.o) and last group received PCA (50mg/kg, p.o), where these groups treated and observed until the 35 day of experimental trial. The different behavioral and biochemical parameters were determined during or end of experiment. \nResults: Aluminium chloride in a dose of 175mg/kg, o.p. significantly induced the dementia and PCA acid, at a dose of 50 mg/kg, p.o., possessed potentially useful protective effect against Aluminium chloride induced-dementia of AD type in rats and provide additive effects when given with rivastigmine.

Objective: Trauma is a major cause of mortality and disability worldwide, which leads to a huge socioeconomic burden. The need for this study was driven by the importance of trauma-related adverse effects, growing trauma statistics, and a lack of sufficient data from Iran. The aim of this study was to determine the frequency of physical trauma during pregnancy in patients referred to the Mahdiyeh Hospital from 2005 to 2015.\nMethods: All data for this cross-sectional study were collected from the medical records of 100 pregnant women, who were referred to the hospital on account of trauma between 2005 and 2015. Data regarding the 100 pregnant women with trauma were extracted from their medical records, and finally, 68 patients, whose medical records were complete and who were without previous abortions or placenta previa were included in this study.\nResults: The average age in patients without previous abortion history was 26 years. In all cases, the trauma was blunt, and 63%, 24%, and 14% involved the abdomen, lower back, and flanks, respectively. Abortion was reported in 3% and 8% of the patients with abdominal and lower back trauma, respectively.\nConclusion: Abdominal and flank trauma hardly result in abortion after embryonic implantation. In most cases, fetal death along with placental abruption during the last few weeks of pregnancy was observed in younger patients.
