Aim of the study: Chromosome abnormalities have an important role in reproductive failure. The presence of numerical or structural aberrations can induce primary infertility or recurrent pregnancy loss. The main purpose of our study was to determine the chromosomal constitution of infertile individuals. Methods: The study was a retrospective analysis based on the results of the constitutional karyotypes in peripheral blood in 380 infertile individuals. The samples consisted of infertile patients of both sexes from Romania, who were studied in the Cytogenetics Laboratory of the Medical Genetic Center Personal Genetics, from 2022 to 2023. Results: From the total patients, a percentage of 53% were men, respectively 47% women. In total, 18 karyograms with structural or numerical anomalies were identified, i.e. a percentage of 5%. Sex chromosomes were involved in 7 cases and autosomes in 11. Thus, chromosomal abnormalities involving autosomal chromosomes represent a percentage of 61% of cases. Of the total chromosomal abnormalities identified in patients, the largest percentage is represented by the pericentric inversion of chromosome 9, representing 44% of the abnormal karyograms. Robertsonian translocations were found in only one case, representing 9% of the cases with autosomal abnormalities analyzed for fertility problems. Among sex chromosome abnormalities, the highest percentage was represented by men with 46,XX, respectively 43% of the total, identified in 3 cases. Tuner Syndrome was identified in 2 cases, i.e. 29% in total. Conclusions: In summary, the results suggest that chromosomal aberrations are a major cause of infertility in humans and cytogenetic analysis should be strongly recommended for infertile individuals. Karyotyping is an essential study in infertility. The detailed clinical examination of this type of patients would facilitate early diagnosis and adequate management.

This study investigates the adoption of AI-powered learning tools among students from universities in Malaysia (TESL) and Indonesia (TEFL), using the Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology (UTAUT) framework. A quantitative method was employed where a questionnaire was administered via online to both groups of participants. A total of 95 students participated, with 59 TEFL (Indonesia) and 36 TESL students (Malaysia). The reliability and validity of the scale were satisfactory. Findings indicate that TESL students consistently reported higher scores across all UTAUT constructs compared to TEFL students, including Performance Expectancy (PE) (TESL: 3.38, TEFL: 2.89, p < 0.001), Effort Expectancy (EE) (TESL: 3.38, TEFL: 3.08, p = 0.013), Social Influence (SI) (TESL: 3.06, TEFL: 2.54, p < 0.001), Facilitating Conditions (FC) (TESL: 3.36, TEFL: 3.01, p = 0.002), Behavioural Intention (BI) (TESL: 3.45, TEFL: 3.03, p < 0.001), and Usage Behaviour (UB) (TESL: 3.39, TEFL: 2.80, p < 0.001). The crosscultural comparison revealed that Malaysian TESL students demonstrated higher adoption rates and usage of AI tools, suggesting that institutional and cultural factors significantly influence adoption. Implications highlight the importance of infrastructural support, training, and fostering a supportive environment to enhance AI adoption. Limitations include the relatively small sample size and the lack of qualitative data on personal experiences. Future research should focus on expanding the sample, incorporating qualitative insights, and exploring the impact of AI adoption on teaching practices.

The findings from this qualitative study provide a comprehensive typology of Instagram users and elaborate their discourse portraits through analyzing Instagram posts, comments, and profiles. This study explores the ways in which Instagram users express themselves within the digital landscape. By analyzing the interplay between visual and textual elements, the semiotic mechanisms that users employ to convey their personal and social identities are uncovered. The discourse portraits of Instagram users are shaped by their choice of language, in particular, the selection of the appropriate role, time and space deixis reflecting the three types of Instagram users-creators, attractors and participants. Through the application of profiling method in linguistics and critical discourse analysis, this research identifies key themes and patterns in user-generated content, revealing how the identities are articulated on Instagram social media platform. This integrated approach allows for a nuanced understanding of how Instagram users construct and maintain their online identities. This investigation aims to enhance the understanding of the dynamic and performative nature of online identity in contemporary digital culture. The study also highlights the role of Instagram as a platform for social interaction and identity performance, where users navigate the tensions between self-expression and audience expectation. This paper contributes to the understanding of digital identity construction by demonstrating how the profiling method in linguistics provides a framework for analyzing the dynamic and complex ways in which users engage with and contribute to the evolving discourse on social media. Ultimately, this research underscores the importance of considering both linguistic and visual elements in the study of online communication and the construction of contemporary digital identities.

Introduction: Transcultural care has gained importance with the increase in migration worldwide. The aim of this study is to investigate and explain the feelings, thoughts and experiences of midwifery students towards transcultural midwifery approaches in health service provision. Methods: The interviews were conducted between January 2024 and June 2024 with students studying in the Department of Midwifery at the Faculty of Health Sciences of a university. Qualitative research design was used in the study. Qualitative content analysis method steps were used in the interviews. Qualitative Research Reporting Standards (SRQR) were followed. The data were analyzed in the qualitative research software package ATLAS.ti 9. The data were analyzed in depth by interpreting and making inferences and codes were created. Results: A total of 3 categories and 12 sub-categories were obtained from the interviews. Three categories were obtained: Implementation Difficulties, Emotional Reactions and Student Perceptions. Conclusion: Midwifery students' experiences of transcultural midwifery approaches in health service provision showed various results. Students were excited by the opportunity to work with patients from different cultures and to learn their perspectives. However, they may also be concerned that they do not have enough knowledge and skills or do not know how to care for a patient from a different culture. The main problem in this sense is the language barrier and lack of knowledge.

The interaction between mother and child is one of the factors that can have a positive or negative effect children`s development. It is known that parents` interaction skills are particularly important in for promoting language, cognitive and social development. Research emphasizes that children with positive parenting skills have better development and school readiness. The current study was conducted using a quasi-experimental pre-test post-test single-group design. For the pilot study, 10 mothers with 13-28 month-old babies who agreed to participate in the study received the 6-week PICCOLO-TR intervention program. The data were collected using the PICCOLO Mother-Child Interaction Observation Form to measure parent-child interaction, as a pre-test and post-test, and the Parent Opinion Form was also used. The Shapiro-Wilks test was used to test the normal distribution of the post-test scores. The results of the study (X=46.70) showed that the PICCOLO subgroup and total scores of the mothers participating in the 6-week early intervention program increased compared to the pre-test scores (X=35.30). It is recommended that the positive results demonstrated in the current study should be tested with larger groups. Moreover, the PICCOLO parent-child interaction assessment observation method can be added to the protocols to monitor and support the development of children. Finally, other intervention approaches that support positive parenting skills can be used in further studies.

Police work is in need at night. This may have adverse effects on police officers involved. This study aims to assess police officers stress, sleep quality, and cognitive performance using Spielberger Police Stress Survey, Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index and Cognitive Functioning Self-Assessment Scale respectively. Data were obtained from 307 police officers at one of the Gulf countries. Levene`s test of equal variances, t-test, analysis of variance, Cronbach`s alpha and Spearman`s rank correlation were used to analyse the data. Results showed that shift work has negative consequences on sleep quality, cognitive performance and, to a lesser extent, on stress. Results also showed that shift officers reported struggling more to stay awake than non-shift officers. Moreover, alarmingly short sleep duration and long time to fall asleep of many police officers, regardless of their roster, were reported. Cronbach`s alpha outcome indicated that the results are reliable. This paper presents a novel work on shift work effects on police officers in developing countries. Based on the results, recommendations to help police officers cope with the negative effects of night work and improve their performance and sleep quality are given at the end.

The digital age opens the opportunity for online learning. Yet, tutors have complained about students` lackadaisical attitudes to reading digital texts shared on learning management systems. This calls for research from the students` angle of the begging issue. Digital texts are quite essential in teaching English, Literacy and Communication Courses, which are mandatory courses for the academic development of all students in higher institutions. This paper is a study of the use of digital texts by selected students in Nigeria with insights from socio-constructivism theory. To address the issues, specific objectives were generated and data was derived from Year 1 and Year 2 students who have studied one or two ELC courses. To analyze the responses, the paper depends on a mixed methods approach to provide in-depth analyses as students write their opinions on the benefits, challenges, and solutions. Therefore, the data are analyzed quantitatively and quantitatively. Indeed, the discussion is premised on the results from the statistical data and themes of the qualitative data. The paper concludes that addressing issues raised by students on the parts of the institution, lecturers and students while taking ELC courses will enhance students` competence, support study skills, and overall academic development of the courses` texts.

This study delves into the intricate relationship between future educational orientation (FEO), parenting styles (PS), and self-efficacy (SE) among Chinese adolescent athletes. The research encompassed a sample of registered athletes hailing from Guangxi Province, China. Utilizing a convenience sampling approach, a comprehensive survey was conducted, distributing 400 questionnaires across 24 athlete teams registered with the Guangxi Sports Bureau. The survey was administered via the Chinese SO JUMP platform, a digital tool facilitating research data collection. To measure the constructs of parenting styles (PS), self-efficacy (SE), and future educational orientation (FEO), we employed well-established scales. Structural equation modeling (SEM) was constructed using Smart-PLS to analyze the data. However, the path coefficient for parenting styles (PS) did not yield robust results, suggesting that this study could not conclusively establish a significant influence of PS on FEO. The findings revealed no discernible gender-based disparities in future educational orientation (FEO) among the 384 surveyed Chinese adolescent athletes. Nevertheless, the study robustly demonstrated a pronounced impact of self-efficacy (SE) on FEO within this demographic.

In this paper, we designed a reliable recipe of the Homotopy analysis transform method to solve the advection-diffusion equation (ADE) in two dimensions. According to this method, the crosswind integrated concentrations released from a source in an inversion layer which formulated by considering the wind speed and eddy diffusivity as a variable is calculated. The numerical results are compared with the analytical results and observed data collected from nine experiments conducted at Inshas, Cairo (Egypt). The solution shows a good agreement between the observed and calculated concentration. It found that the advantage of this method, we can overcome the difficulties arise in other analytical method.

In this study, the heat transfer enhancement on trapezoid ribs established on the floor of rectangular duct is investigated. These ribs were used as heat sources and cooling of them has been achieved with EHD active method by experimental procedure. The flow was three dimensional, steady, viscous and incompressible with regimes of both laminar and turbulent(Re=500, 2000 and 4500). The hydrodynamics and heat transfer behavior of the air flow was studied by EHD active method with application of corona wind. The aim of this work is application of EHD active method for convective heat transfer enhancement. In this method, two arrangements of wire electrodes have been achieved. The results show that in same Reynolds numbers and voltages of wire electrodes, the heat transfer enhancement was increase in arrangement 1 than arrangement 2.

In this work, time-dependent diffusion equation is analyzed in two dimensions to calculate crosswind integrated normalized concentration of pollutants by using Laplace technique. Gaussian quadrature scheme used to estimate the concentration by numerically inverting it when eddy diffusivity is varied in terms of convective scaling parameters in unstable case. Comparing between outcomes values with observed data of Sulfur hexafluoride (Sf6) on Copenhagen in Denmark (Gryning, 1984) are estimated.

In a Vinyl Chloride Monomer (VCM) balanced process plant, Ethylene Di-Chloride (EDC) is produced by oxychlorination reaction mechanisms ( O.C.) over Copper/Aluminum catalyst, utilizing the HCl gas which is generated from EDC pyrolysis section. The original molar ratio calculations were based on the following parameters: a) Gas Chromatography measured values b) Fresh feed and recycle gas mix composition c) Molar ratio against HCl d) Fresh feed flow rate against HCl e) Burn Ratio, which is a relation between CO & CO2 and total carbon in the effective ethylene in the reactor. Actual operational data at the Egyptian Petrochemicals showed that the presence of high concentrations of CO & CO2 produced in the O.C. reactor loop resulted in remarkable drawbacks on catalyst fluidization, plant throughput and corrosion, which is mainly related to the decrease of HCl conversion rate. The application of multistep chemical processing approach results in optimizing EDC production output without frequent catalyst fluidization difficulties and minimizing wastes that goes with downstream processing units and purification stages.\n Analysis of the actual operational parameters showed some important results which are applied to get the optimum results. The evaluation of the operational plant data revealed the following:\n 1) There is an inverse proportionality between HCl conversion rate and the concentration on CO & CO2 in the O.C. reactor recycle loop. The application of O.C Yield and O.C. Molar Ratio Calculation Programs provided an important approach to maximize HCl conversion with the optimum O2 : HCl and C2 H4 : HCl\n 2) Burn ratio has a direct proportionality with CO & CO2 concentrations. The application of the deduced relations on the applied calculation programs resulted in an increase of the plant on stream factor by 20% without any additional installations.

Background and Objective: in recent years, unique features of nanoparticles were expanded. Different types of metal oxide nanoparticles (NPs) have been suggested for various applications such as water treatment and construction of agricultural pesticides. LC50 96h tests of chemical compounds can provide useful data for toxicity of these compounds and sustainable management of ecosystems. The aim of the present study was to assess toxicity of Copper oxide nanoparticles (NPs-CuO) on the common Carp (Cyprinus carpio L. 1758). Materials and Method: For this purpose 150 fish with an average weight 7±1 g for 96 hours were exposed to 0, 10, 20, 30, 40, 60, 80, 100, 150 and 200 mg/l of CuO-NPs (10 treatment with 3 replication). After exposure 24, 48, 72 and 96 hours, the rate of mortality for each treatment was calculated. Results: Data analysis on LC50 96h of CuO-NPs for common carp was estimated as 124.987 ml/l, showing a significant correlation (p< 0.01) between concentrations of CuO-NPs and fish mortality Conclusion: this study indicate that metal nanoparticles have toxic effects in aquatic organisms; also, analyses date of LC50 96h showed CuO-NPs was more toxic in common carp and could considered as a model of aquatic organism.

Multiple reflections/Inter-reflections in relation to the sphere\n\n\n Synopsis\n\n Multiple reflections/Inter-reflections in relation to the sphere constitute one the cases of Alhazen’s Problem, Alhazen’s Optical Problem or Billiard Problem.\n The author of this paper defined and solved this problem using the methods of descriptive geometry and in this particular scope one of the cases of Apollonian curves of the third degree with the property defined as isoptic – Apollonian isoptic cubic curve for which the author provided a new method of generating it. \n Thanks to the properties of this curve is is possible to determine the points of reflection in relation to the sphere in the central-reflective projection for any arrangement of points in space sphere and the centre of projections. One of the possible arrangements consists in an arrangement for which a point in space A and the projection centre S are situated in the inner space of the sphere (or a circle). It is a case in which the reflection occurs only in relation to the inner side of the sphere (or a circle). In physical terms it corresponds to the reflection in the spherical concave mirror. The course of the Apollonian curve indicates points Af on the sphere for which the reflection law is met. However, it is easy to demonstrate that there are areas of intraspherical space (inside a circle), which are restricted with a pencil of spheres with the shared centre O with the reflectional sphere on which it is possible to circumscribe regular n-angles (which contain on their sides a pair of points A and S) in the plane determined by three points A, O, S for which n assumes any value from the set (3…,∞). The vertexes of these n-angles belong to the reflection sphere (reflection circle) and they are points of multiple reflections / inter-reflections.\n It should be remarked that when n = ∞ the regular polygon joins together with the circle circumscribed on it because the circle is a reflection circle and hence on the n vertexes of this polygon there is an infinite number of reflection points Af, (fig. 15).\n When n = 3, the regular polygon is an equilateral triangle. The difference between the radii of a circle of the reflection sphere and a circle inscribed within a triangle is the biggest and comes to 2/3 of the radius of the sphere. In the case of the n-angle when n = ∞ the difference of radii is 0. It should be stated that in the case of an infinite number multiple reflection/inter-reflection the pair of points A and S belongs to the reflection sphere (reflection circle) and the image of any given point A is identical with the image of the whole reflection circle. \n This work is a contribution to a reply to questions concerning multiple reflections/ inter-reflections in the scope of a general problem of spherical reflections – Alhazen’s Problem, Alhazen’s Optical Problem and Billiard Problem. It determines the scope of discussions about this issue on the grounds of descriptive geometry and provides answers to questions resulting from defined by the author problem of multiple reflections/inter-reflections and possible deliberations resulting from them.\n In descriptive geometry, except for the exception known to the author, this problem has not been taken up yet.
