This study utilized a quantitative research design to investigate the effects of TV political talk shows on viewers' democratic behavior and political comprehension. The research sample comprised 400 participants who completed an online survey questionnaire about their exposure to TV political talk shows and their resulting attitudes and knowledge about politics. A recent study found a positive correlation between news media consumption and talk show viewing, and perceived civic behavior positively and following political issues closely. However, there was no significant correlation between talk show viewing and intention to vote. The study did not support the hypothesis that the issues highlighted on talk shows correspond to the top perceived concerns affecting the country. The data indicates that social media platforms like Facebook and WhatsApp are also increasingly important sources of news and information. Media consumption can impact civic engagement and political knowledge but talk shows may not be effective in motivating people to vote or addressing the most pressing issues. Political campaigns may need to explore other strategies to mobilize voters. Talk shows may not provide a representative reflection of people\'s concerns and may not contribute to solutions for the most pressing issues. Media organizations and talk show producers may need to reconsider the topics they cover and the perspectives they represent to ensure they address significant societal issues..

This paper investigates cultural invasion through advertisements of international brands in Pakistan during the 2020 lockdown due to the Covid-19 pandemic, assuming that the youth consumed more media and more advertisements during the period. The researchers pinned the research to the cultivation theory though they also surveyed theories on the agency of the consumer. They reviewed literature on cultural imperialism from across the world and Pakistan\'s cultural policy. They examined multiple brand advertisements by multinational companies such as Coke, Pepsi, Nestle, Unilever, Samsung, Jazz, foodpanda and Uber. They also used a survey questionnaire to collect data from 841 university students on eight variables: dressing styles, foods, social values, festivals, gender liberation, purchase power, consumer conduct and the responsibility of the authority and media institutions. The studies showed that the advertisements liberate the viewers from their local culture, social norms, traditions and values by emphasizing on western looks, dresses, foods, values and events. This paper aimed to explore in-service English language teachers� perceptions towards the classroom applications of critical pedagogy (CP) principles in Palestine. It also focused on the possible relationships between categorical variables such as gender, years of experience, major, classes taught per week, educational degree and teachers� perceptions of using a mixed-methods approach. Ninety-six teachers participated in this study, 64 females and 32 males. Both quantitative and qualitative results indicated that the participants had positive perceptions towards the application of CP principles in the FL classroom. Particularly, qualitative results revealed teachers� lack of awareness of CP and lack of emphasis on the importance of integrating CP principles in the English curricula taught at public schools, shedding light on the difficulty of applying these principles because of the subtleties of the situation in Palestine. The overall results suggested that CP principles can and should be applied to public schools in the Palestinian context.

The study investigated ICT facilities and students’ academic performance among undergraduate students of environmental education department, University of Calabar, Nigeria. Two research questions were posed to guide the study. The area of study is the University of Calabar, Calabar. The research design used for the study was descriptive survey. The population of the study was 520 students of the Department of Environmental Education, from where 260 undergraduate students were selected to form the sample. The sample for the study was selected through simple random sampling technique. The instrument used for data collection was a standard questionnaire titled, ICT facilities availability and impact on students’ academic performance (IFAISAP). The data was analysed using simple percentage. The finding of the study revealed among others that the use of ICT facilities like smartphones, internet, WhatsApp study group has positive impact on the academic performance of the environmental education students.

This study was carried out to analyze the contents of environmental sensibilities of SS1-3 tourism textbooks in secondary schools in Cross River State, Nigeria. For the purpose of this study to be achieved, five research questions were posed to assess the environmental sensibilities in the sampled tourism textbooks. Review of related literature was carried out. The descriptive survey research design was considered most suitable for the study. Purposive sampling technique was adopted in selecting the five (5) tourism textbooks used for the study. A rating scale was the instrument used for collection of data. Frequency counts and simple percentages were considered most appropriate for data analysis. The findings obtained from analysis revealed that the contents of environmental sensibilities in tourism textbooks is not varied enough to create environmental awareness in the students that can bring about change in their behavior.

The aim of this article is to report the development, validity and reliability of Teacher Workplace Learning Scale (TWLS). The sample of the study consists of 400-trained teachers who are chosen using multistage cluster sampling technique from 40 secondary schools in Malaysia. The Exploratory Factor Analysis (EFA) has been carried out by using data from 200 teachers from twenty secondary schools. The content validity, criterion validity and construct validity analyses have been carried out by using this set of data. The findings of EFA through varimax method has formed three factors, consisted of 21 items of TWLS with factor loadings range from .54 - .84. The reliability Cronbach Alpha coefficient for the overall item is .85, meanwhile for each factors developed ranged from .66 to .91. For the second phase of the study, the Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA) has been carried out toward data of 400 teachers from 40 secondary schools in Malaysia. The purpose of this analysis is to support the factor structure developed from the first phase of the study. The Cronbach Alpha of the 20 items is .84, meanwhile for each factor developed ranged from .76 to .88. As the conclusion, the result of Confirmatory Factor Analysis has supported the three factors developed from the first phase of the study. As the conclusion, these analyses have generated a new pool of TWL item to measure the construct of Teacher Workplace Learning Scale in Malaysian educational context. However, the findings are valuable for the ministry of education, researchers, teachers, and teacher educators\' references, which are interested in exploring teacher workplace learning self-assessment.

Service-Oriented Computing (SOC) activates communication through web services to provide computing as a service for business applications in the Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA). To make SOC successful, finding a needed service to build a system directly depending on the collection of services is a critical confront, in this paper we planned the clustering-based approach called Dynamic Clustering (DCLUS). The novelty in DCLUS compared to static based clustering technique is the use of dynamic clustering technique. In existing CLUS, static various widths clustering method exploited for the users and services clustering. However, due to the limitations of static clustering, we proposed dynamic clustering to optimize the performance of clustering using data mining to find the associations and patterns, for services, and also the prediction accuracy. The performance of the proposed DCLUS system will be implemented and evaluated facing the existing system in phases of precision, recall, and f-score performance metrics using the research dataset.

In this paper, the idea of improvement of Flexural properties of sandwich structures comprising of aluminum honeycomb core and carbon fiber reinforced epoxy matrix (CFRP) composite face sheets is evaluated by performing three-point-bend tests according to ASTM C393 & ASTM D7250. Various multiple concentrations of multi-walled carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs), i.e. 0.5wt%, 1.0wt% and 1.5wt% are incorporated in CFRP face sheets in order to calculate shift in mechanical properties. In order to manufacture sandwich structures, hand lay-up followed by vacuum bagging technique were utilized. Results showed that, the incorporation of 1.0wt% MWCNTs resulted in optimum mechanical performance as compared to the rest of the specimens.

As a Spanish Instructor, I pay close attention to “the why” the learners struggle with different concepts. Once I have identified the barriers, I conduct research that is centered in the classroom with the hopes of aiding other instructors. The goal of this of this classroom-centered research is to explore the impact Project Based Learning (PBL) may have on English speakers learning Spanish. Studies have been conducted applying PBL to other disciplines, however, there has not been one to address the issue of applying PBL to practice and improve the asking and answering of open-ended questions in Spanish. This type of question involves providing information, which is different from just agreeing or disagreeing. Approaching the open-ended questions through Project Based Language Learning (PBL) may provide the needed practice to gain self-confidence to begin employing this process. If the learners are able to write and answer this type of questioning, perhaps this skill may transfer to their conversations. Therefore, this study examines the possible link between the use of quizzes generated from the creation of Spanish Picture Books, PBL and the learners’ improvement in asking and answering open-ended questions, which is essential in conversations

The paper is aimed at determining the productivity of high school graduates who work in the hospitality industry in Indonesia. The employees are graduates from two school tracks in the secondary level, i.e. Vocational High School (VHS) and Academic High School (AHS). The study highlights productivity through basic salary, bonus and total salary. Using a survey questionnaire, we analyzed data from 420 high school graduate employees in the hospitality industry in Indonesia. The first phase analysis was to determine the effect of the school program on employees’ productivity. The second phase analysis was aimed to ascertain the pattern of a model in salary discrepancy obtained. Variables of job experience, job experience2, training experience, gender and firm type were used to control the effect of school factors on employees’ productivity. The results of the first phase indicate that school program affects employees\' productivity which is AHS graduates earn more than VHH graduates. Whereas the results of the second phase of the analysis indicate a pattern of significantly different salary after two-year of work experience.

What school administrators perceive from the change may differ from the teacher, student and parent. It is important to determine what this perception consists of and what factors the differentiation is caused by. Therefore, it is aimed to determine school managers’ perceptions of openness to change in this study. In this research, a mixed methods research was used in which qualitative and quantitative data were evaluated together. In the development of the scale of managers’ openness to change in terms of management processes, a survey model was used to gather the data for quantitative data. The study participants consisted of 400 managers who worked as school principals in Kastamonu province in 2018. A Likert-type and one-dimensional scale was developed by researchers consisting of 41 statements, and it comprised managers’ perceptions of openness to change. In addition, a semi-structured interview was conducted with 8 school principals working in Kastamonu and obtained qualitative data were analyzed by descriptive content analysis method. It was revealed that managers did not hesitate to take responsibility for openness to change and saw this responsibility as a requirement of their duties.

In this study, the effect of visual analogy-supported mathematics teaching on the subject of \"integers\" on sixth grade students\' conceptual understanding and their views on the use of analogy was examined in terms of learning styles and it was evaluated whether the learning style of the students had an effect on their level of concept understanding and their views on the use of analogy. In this study, in which it was tried to determine whether the students benefited from the visual analogy supported learning method equally according to their learning styles, the \"single group pre-test-post-test\" model was used from the pre-trial models. The conceptual knowledge levels of the students in the study were measured twice before and after the application of analogy-supported mathematics teaching. The study group was consists of 52 students from a secondary school in Grade 6 level in the western part of Turkey in the 2018-2019 academic year. During the application process, test of understanding of the concepts and form of evaluation mathematics teaching supported by visual analogy were applied to the students. In the evaluation of the quantitative data, the SPSS package program was used, and the qualitative data were evaluated using the content analysis technique. According to the results of the research, it has been revealed that there is a significant difference between the pre-post test scores in favor of the posttest for the students\' test of understanding of the concepts scores. While there was no significant difference between students\' pre-test scores of test of understanding of the concepts according to their preferred learning styles, a significant difference was found between the post-test scores according to their learning styles. It was determined that the posttest scores of visual students differed from both auditory and tactile/kinesthetic students according to p significance level and were significantly higher. It was analyzed that the difference between the posttest scores of the auditory and kinesthetic students was not statistically significant. As another result of the study, the students expressed a positive opinion on visual analogy-supported mathematics teaching; however, there was no significant difference between opinions and learning styles. Since mathematics teaching supported by visual analogy was carried out in the study, before the study, it was predicted that students with a visual learning style will learn at a higher level. In this case, the expected and actual result are same.

Kinetic Monte Carlo modelling was employed as a powerful tool to kinetically investigation of antibiotics removal by photo-Fenton process (iron(III) citrate/ hydrogen proxide in the presence of UV irradiation). Sulfamethazine, ciprofloxacin, sulfathiazole and amoxicillin are the antibiotics which were studied in this investigation. The kinetic mechanism of the photo-Fenton degradation were found by Monte Carlo simulation for all studied antibiotics including sulfamethazine, ciprofloxacin, sulfathiazole and amoxicillin. Also the rate constants values of each step in the suggested mechanism were acquired for these antibiotics through the simulation. Optimized values of Fe(III) citrate and hydrogen proxide were attained through obtaining the effect of their initial amounts on the rate of antibiotics elimination by means of kinetic Monte Carlo simulation. The perfect agreement is observed between the simulation results and the experimental photo-Fenton data for the abovementioned antibiotics.
