This study focuses on gesture and proficiency in the English public speaking context for Chinese learners of English as a foreign language (EFL). 20 advanced Chinese EFL learners, 20 intermediate Chinese EFL learners, and 20 native English speakers made English speeches. The advanced group gestured far more than the native and intermediate groups. The advanced group employed more beat gestures probably to pace their speech, reduce anxiety and enhance meaning; the Chinese and English culture and the need to explain complex abstract ideas could give rise to excessive metaphorical gestures. In contrast, though comparable in the other three gesture types, the intermediate group was not adept in presenting their abstract ideas manually. Finally, we confirmed that more gestures meant better speech performance for the intermediate group, yet gestures alone did not predict language proficiency. In general, the advanced group might be aware and competent to use gestures to aid their speech production and addressee’s comprehension. Nevertheless, increasing the proper use of metaphorical gestures to promote speech performance is a request for intermediate EFL learners. Language proficiency appeared to be a complex mediation other than mere gesture performance alone.
Nonverbal communication (NVC), sending 93% of the information in the conversation (Mehrabian 1981), can be deemed silent communication other than words in the form of body movement, facial expressions, eye contact, gesture, space and distance, and even buildings and computers. A majority of traditional studies have been concentrated on verbal communication, while NVC studies have been marginal, leaving a huge research gap for mapping out the language system as a whole. Hence, this book diverts its eyes to this area from the perspective of semiotics. By means of collecting signs and representational activities, the book illustrates the role and function of NVC and its relationship with face-to-face communication (F2F), culture, and mind. As an anthropologist, the writer of the book Marcel Danesi introduces NVC from a cross-disciplinary point of view, including biology, psychology, neuroscience, semiotics, linguistics, anthropology, culture studies, and AI as the new trend. Through his comprehensive presentation, this book unfolds itself with the history, development, and influence of various forms of NVC and may benefit readers from diverse fields.

The totality of the obtained research allows understanding of the ability of the population to use technology, which affects the development of the society\'s information culture. According to the study results, it is found that there is a lack of basic process skills in society. At the same time, system skills directly affect the ability to solve various needs. At the same time, there are enough technical skills that help even repair the equipment and solve simple technical problems. It is also determined that, in general, the working population has sufficiently developed critical thinking and can solve complex problems and comprehensively assess the situation.
This study investigates the image of the Prophet Muhammad in the Elizabethan drama which includes several lexical, semantic, and contextualitems. These items represent implicit ideological and cultural conflict as a result of the clash between the Ego and the world. This work is a literary innovation which changes the meaning by lexically manipulating the word to arrive at new connotations. It aims to examine the instances where the Prophet Muhammad is mentioned in order to elaborate on some aspects of the connotations associated with him and to discover the hidden meanings in the components of the sentence. The study problem is to detect these implicit connotations, which rely on biased ideologies that go against human concepts and values. These implicit connotations were introduced by manipulating connotations to serve cultural and ideological purposes in order to enhance the tendencies of the Ego and the Other. The results reveal that the theatrical texts involved tampering with the internal movement of the characters in the theatrical text with the purpose of introducing false historical events and serving goals irrelevant to literature. They also uncover the introversion of the Ego, and apostasy, as a consequence of the psychological state of the Other in that era.
The subject approached in this paper refers to the roles and interests of both teachers and learners. Learners have different characteristics according to their age, their level of knowledge as well as their interests. A teacher plays different roles during an activity. The role that teacher plays depends on the type of activity as well as on the students` interests and age. In addition, teachers must take into account the motivation that each student requires, and they should create a proper connection between students and themselves. The level of acquisition depends on teachers` ability to provide suitable activities for their students.
Amphiphilic molecules represent an important scientific field today. These molecules, called surfactants, are capable of forming aggregates in water or oil (micelles and vesicles) of different shapes. This property gives them the power to encapsulate and vectorise active ingredients in the human body. They are increasingly evolving both at the fundamental level and in terms of applications. Some even consider that they will compete with the elements of nanotechnology at the heart of the next industrial revolution. The use of surfactants in the more specific field of medicine has become a major element, especially in the detection of pathologies such as cancer, renal failure, etc. This increases the effectiveness of their treatment. This technology is a real revolution in the detection of diseases and is therefore a major public health issue. A lot of work is being developed and directed towards the synthesis of non-toxic surfactants containing functions that defend the body, signal the diseased cell and detect the disease. In Algeria, it is estimated that 15,000 people suffer from end-stage renal failure and up to 420 million worldwide. This is due to the quality of treatment techniques which are the major causes of the increase in the number of patients suffering from this chronic pathology. The Algerian Ministry of Health has launched a plan against this disease by facilitating the situation and needs of people with chronic renal failure and improving access to kidney transplants. But the difficulties are still present. In our analysis, we will discuss a surfactant perfluorinated with coumarin molecules which, by increasing its concentration, forms aggregates. These molecules filter the blood directly without going through haemodialysis. Our experience will be like a survey proposed to the Ministry of Health, which in turn will help us to publish the results and report on the disease at national level.
