This paper reports a study that has been carried out in environmentally sustainable schools in Malaysia. The schools were awarded as the Environmentally Sustainable School (ESS) by Department of Environment (DOE) as part of initiatives in creating awareness of a healthy environment for younger generations. The study highlights the concept of knowledge management based on the understanding that specific knowledge in ESS needs to be managed well to sustain the schools’ environment. The same goes for leadership. Should there be a specific leadership style to enable them to sustain the schools’ environment? Thus, the study examines knowledge management practices, sustainable leadership practices and the relationship between those variables in ESS. Furthermore, the study also seeks if there is any difference in practice of knowledge management and sustainable leadership between two groups of ESS which are the successful ESS and less successful ESS. The findings showed that there is no difference in the overall practices of knowledge management and sustainable leadership in those two categories of schools. Hence, further research on the sustainability of schools’ environment particularly in relation to school’s leadership and management is indispensable.

Este estudio de carácter fenomenológico y cualitativo se dedicó a examinar las experiencias vividas por candidatos a doctorado en EE.UU. mediante la educación a distancia. La investigación permitió detallar las dificultades que ellos enfrentaron durante el proceso de elaboración de su tesis y que, eventualmente, les llevaron a retirarse del programa doctoral. Los datos del estudio se recopilaron a través de entrevistas con preguntas abiertas para que cada estudiante narrara su vivencia. En la investigación se utilizaron los procedimientos del Análisis Fenomenológico Interpretativo (IPA) para evaluar los datos y la técnica IPA ayudó a construir una relación entre los eventos vividos, permitiéndoles obtener un mejor conocimiento de las situaciones atravesadas por los participantes. Los datos obtenidos reflejaron cinco temas principales que llevaron al retiro de los estudiantes de sus respectivos programas. Estos hallazgos se suman al cuerpo de conocimiento sobre las conexiones de los estudiantes de doctorado en línea con los tutores y asesores académicos durante el proceso de su realización. Como resultado, los hallazgos del estudio pueden ayudar a otros a construir programas efectivos que ayuden al progreso académico y a la finalización de este nivel de estudios superiores.

El estudio desarrollado se enfoca en un espacio de reflexión desde el papel del currículo como eje integrador de ciencia, tecnología e innovación, reconociendo los escenarios técnicos y científicos establecidos en las universidades a lo largo de la historia, fomentando un diálogo de autores en torno a los requerimientos de currículos integrados, partiendo de una revisión teórico conceptual, asociada a modelos cognitivos que integran la investigación. El valor de los resultados visibiliza el papel de las TIC, TAP y TEP, como eje central en la construcción de competencias y resultados de aprendizaje, que conlleven a declarar las intencionalidades para distribuir temas y subtemas. Como conclusión, se ofrecen recomendaciones para la articulación por niveles curriculares micro, macro y meso de acuerdo con el área de conocimiento e intencionalidad didáctica

Constitutional provisions in South Africa specify that everyone has the right to education in an official language, or languages of their choice in public educational institutions. This remains significant in the South African context where English is the popular choice as medium of instruction and given preference over African languages. Since multilingual learners often attend monolingual schools, discrepancies arise in the implementation of linguistic social justice, disempowering multilingual youth. The purpose of this paper is to explore translanguaging as a means of promoting linguistic social justice. The study uses an interpretivist case study by drawing on semi-structured interviews with a head of department and three English teachers from a secondary school in Johannesburg, South Africa.

In this paper, we present a new stochastic SIRS epidemic model with information intervention and imprecise parameters. We use interval number to discuss SIRS epidemic model for lack of precise numerical data. Thus, we find that the stochastic basic reproduction number $\\mathscr{R}^s$ is the threshold of disease persistence and extinction. If $\\mathscr{R}^s<1$, the disease will die out with probability one, while if $\\mathscr{R}^s>1$, there exists a stationary distribution, which implies the disease will prevail. Numerical simulations are given to verify our analytical results.

Sports are based on the concepts of game and pleasure. In addition, sports are among treatment methods of psychiatric rehabilitation programs because they are effective in reducing anxiety and stress that negatively affect human behavior. The main purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of sports on anxiety. The sample group of the study was composed of 50 university students and 33 people-subject group who do not regularly engage in sports and voluntarily participated in the study. A sports training plan was given to the participant students for 4 days per week during 3 months. The State-Trait Anxiety Inventory developed by Spielberg (1970) was used to determine the anxiety levels of the students participating in the study. For analyses of the data, Portable IBM SPSS Statistics v15 software package was used. “The Kolmogorov-Smirnov Test” was applied in order to decide whether data has normal distribution and “ANOVA-Homogeneity of variance” was applied to test the homogeneity of variances and it is observed that data is homogeneous and has a normal distribution. After this initial analysis, it was decided to use the parametric test method in statistical analysis of the data. For the analysis of data, it was decided to use the descriptive statistics and co-sample t-test for the analysis of the collected data. The pre-sports anxiety score of students in the sample group was found to be ( =47,392±5,844) and the post-sports anxiety score of students in the sample group was found to be ( =41,980±6,077). According to the results of comparison of the trait anxiety scores of participant students after 3 months of sports training, a statistically significant difference was found (p<0,05). At the end of the study, it was determined that sports have a positive effect on anxiety. This study and many previous studies have shown that sports are important to ensure that individuals pursue a happy life.

The main objective of the present research is to understand the factors associated with the ecological impacts of the industries in the world, demonstrating the importance of sustainable development oriented to the conservation of resources and the strengthening of competitiveness through natural preservation. The methodology used was to study primary data, using descriptive analysis according to data obtained by the World Bank and other authors who have studied these environments in response to the hypotheses raised. As a result, a strong correlation was obtained between the variables of measurement, where there is no high dispersion versus the variables, which allows to clarify that the ecological development is pertinent according to the positive correlation and shown in the R squared that is close of 1, which indicates that the hypothesis demonstrates the need for development. It is concluded that the economies must resort to the improvement of their environmental policies, promoting sustainable development where the adoption of positions that bind society and industries generate more economic development that adopts inclusive positions in a more equitable way for the world.

MAPSE (Mitral annular plane systolic excursion) is a practical and easy mode to assess left ventricle (LV) potential. The study was designed to examine cardiac output in ankylosing spondylitis (AS) patients with no known cardiac risk factors. Our study used a prospective case protocol design. In total, 40 AS (14 females and 26 males) were gender-matched with healthy volunteers (26 females and 14 males) and enlisted prospectively for this study. Laboratory analyses and comprehensive transthoracic echocardiographic examination were performed on all patients. MAPSE was reduced in AS compared to the healthy controls (1.28±0.1 cm and 1.52±0.2 cm, respectively; p < 0.001). AS was negatively associated with MAPSE (r = -0.696, p < 0.001). Morever, stronger correlations were found between AS and MAPSE in multivariate logistic regression analysis (Odds Ratio (OR) = 1.967, 95% confidence interval [CI] = 1.574–2.459, p < 0.001). (OR = 0.886, 95% CI, 0.838–0.937, p < 0.001). Student t-test, Mann-Whitney U test, chi-square test, Pearson and Spearman tests, logistic regression analysis. These data show diastolic parameters of the LV were adversely affected in AS patients. Moreover, we believe that MAPSE is useful for identifying LV diastolic dysfunction in AS patients with normal LV ejection. The MAPSE method is easy and not as time consuming as than other methods.

Background: Pseudomonas aeruginosa with widely distributed in nature, for human beings is considered an opportunistic pathogen that causes infections of broad spectrum, including administrative, respiratory, septicemia and bacteremia and sepsis in patients with the burn city of Ahwaz.Method and Material: A total of 95isolates of Pseudomonas aeruginosa isolated from burn patients from January 2015 assemble and biochemical identification test, then they are antibiotic resistance in E. test and disk diffusion method were compared.Findings: From 95 different clinical isolates of Pseudomonas aeruginosa isolated from E. test with the highest sensitivity to the antibiotic ceftazidime , 70(73.68%) and ciprofloxaci50 (52.63%) and gentamicin 48 (52.50 %) and the antibiotic imipenem 44 (46.31%) were sensitive and disk diffusion method antibiotic ceftazidime, 67(70.52%) and the antibiotic Ciprofloxacin 51 (53.68%) and safety antibiotic imipenem 49(51.57%) and gentamicin 48 (50.52%) were sensitive.Conclusion: Statistically significant differences between E. test and disk diffusion antimicrobial susceptibility of there (P≤50) and disk diffusion method can replace E. test, and also the most sensitive antibiotics, the antibiotics used The study of the isolated Pseudomonas is ceftazidime.

Nano silica was chemically prepared from rice husk and characterized using X-Ray Diffractometer (XRD) and Electron Dispersive Analysis (EDA) instruments. The data indicated an amorphous structure with 96.9% of Si. In addition, the synthesized nanoparticles (NPs) were coated with essential oils (EOs); either clove or peppermint (20%) to form solid lipid nanoparticles (SLNs/EO). Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM) investigation indicated that, SLNs/EO were almost spherical. Furthermore, the Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FTIR) analysis of these formulations showed asymmetric vibration for Si-O, Si-OH as well as bands of alkyl, hydroxyl and carbonyl groups of EOs. Subsequently, toxicity of EOs and their SLNs/EO formulations were assessed against adults of red flour beetle, Tribolium castaneum Herbst (Coleoptera: Tenebrionidae). The mortality was recorded after 5, 7, 10 and 14 days of exposure. The data showed that, SLNs/clove was more toxic than clove oil alone (4.86-folds) after 7 days. On the other hand, no significant differences in the total protein, carbohydrate contents and percentages of germination were observed between treatments and control group. These findings suggest that, SLNs/EO could serve as alternative potent insecticides for controlling stored product insects. However, further researches are required to improve SLNs/EO efficacy and investigate their environmental impact.

This paper presents a novel hardware architecture for fast fuzzy clustering. The architecture is able to perform kernel fuzzy C-means operation with spatial constraints. It contains pipelined circuits for the computation of kernel functions, membership coefficients and cluster centers. In addition, it is able to merge the usual iterative operations for updating the membership matrix and cluster centers as one single updating process to evade the large storage requirement. The circuit is implemented by field programmable gate array (FPGA). Experimental results show that the proposed solution is an effective alternative for data classification and image segmentation with high performance and high throughput.

The automated information systems of support decision are the formation basis of the automated systems of monitoring, forecasting and management of natural processes in coastal sea regions. All information on the processes happening in the region has to gather in the form of multi-purpose da-tabases of indicators, parameters, criteria for evaluation of processes, calculation procedures and the analysis of the indicators grouped in spheres of activity; and knowledge bases of experts in various areas of ecological management; and database of standard decisions.\nStructures of thematic databases (Storages of data) on the main processes in environment of the coastal region, databases of indicators of these processes and criteria for evaluation of a situation on the main spheres of regional activity are proved in article.\nThe technology of storage of numerous and various data is offered based on OLAP-technology in the form of multidimensional cubes.
